  I analyze blood and other bodily fluids with an automated instrument and microscopically in a hospital setting. I conduct lead tech duties which include but are not limited to fielding problem issues that arise throughout the day, oraganize the day depending on staffing and procedures to be completed. I train new staff members and also am active in teaching the students in the medical centers Medical Technologist Program. I work with the pathologist, reviewing and preparing specimens and slides for their review and analysis.

  At the American Red Cross, I started out as a lab assistant processing units of blood collected at blood drives and seperated them into blood components. After I graduated from ICC with my Associates Degree, I was promoted to a Laboratory Technician and completed testing on the donor units.
