Collaborating with Artsy was a truly unique experience! The editor reached out to me a couple of weeks before russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine with a request to speak to the local art community and cover the state of the Ukrainian art market during this turbulent period. The deadline was February 23. I had just submitted the article to the editor, and in 5 hours, the war began. Most of the things I wrote became irrelevant overnight. On February 24, together with the Artsy team, we started looking for a new angle because we all knew this article must be published. Working in a bomb shelter while Kyiv was on fire, I put all my bravery and worries into the article, knowing from the first day of the war that Ukraine will stand, so will its art. Show less
