There's a strange thing about Maria it took me a while to understand. Tore between her poised, brain surgeon-like comments and her candid joy when first time facing an idea she likes, I thought it's some sort of well hidden naiveté, then some wicked extra-sensorial way of living. And then it struck me. It was just the puzzling effect that genius has on normal people like me. Maria Filonova is the most brilliant mind I've seen in many years. She is sharp as a razor, yet enjoys life with the innocence of a child. She can let herself be touched by an emotional story, but she'll always tell you when you're not on brief. Working with her in BBDO was a joy and a privilege, in the same time. I was extremely happy for Maria when I found out that, while at the peak of her game in BBDO, she got drafted for a job she not only absolutely loves but it simply does her justice, it makes better use of her enormous brain and her destiny as a "maker", as a player absolutely worthy of the Major League of world changing businesses. Her view on life swiftly adjusted to the scale of the game she's playing and she keeps growing as if sky is the limit. And the beauty of it is that, no matter how far away in her Universe conquering quest she will get, I believe she will always look at the amazing things of this world with the same enthusiasm and fascination, as it would be for the first time.

I know Masha since I joined BBDO Russia group in 2010 as a junior strategic planner and I was reporting to her directly for about year and a half. Speaking from general to specific I should first of all say that Masha is the best boss I’ve ever had in my career.
