At Rebelleon I work on a variety of projects across the construction, fashion, and charity sectors. I am currently assisting with the creation of our new sustainable workwear brand, Re_threads. Furthermore, I lead the fundraising grant applications for our partner charity Rise Futures. At Rebelleon I work on a variety of projects across the construction, fashion, and charity sectors. I volunteered during the Coronavirus pandemic with RVS to help vulnerable people in my community. My responsibilities include check-in-and-chat and delivering prescriptions. I am thankful I was able to help others during this difficult time. I volunteered during the Coronavirus pandemic with RVS to help vulnerable people in my community. I ran clubs, days out and residential trips for young people and adults with special educational needs. It was a challenging job with many responsibilities, but this also made it very rewarding. Working with such a diverse group of people greatly developed my communication skills. I was the fundraising officer for the University’s OPAD society (Open-source Prosthetics and Assistive Devices) for two years. We design and make devices to assist those in the community with additional needs. Alongside my officer position, I led a group designing ear defenders for young people with noise sensitivities. Over four weeks I worked in prosthetics, orthotics, the gait lab and the workshops. I enjoyed working with the technicians, as they still use traditional materials such as wax and leather but also newer technologies including carbon-fibre and 3D scanning. Meeting the patients was eye-opening and showed me the impact that engineering can have. Over four weeks I worked in prosthetics, orthotics, the gait lab and the workshops. At John Lewis I was trained in many areas of the business and was a valued employee, receiving a promotion in my second year. Having worked there for three years, I appreciate the benefit of getting to know a company and its staff well and becoming one of the team.
