Current duties: develop, deliver and manage the EAL induction for all new arrivals EAL pupils. Co-ordinate and manage EAL intervention at KS3 & 4 for all EAL pupils who are underachieving, ensure progression from KS2 to KS3 and from KS3 to KS4, track and monitor pupil progress, develop an assessment programme to track progress, lead and manage the EAL department. Lead EAL across the school (the school has over 30% EAL population); manage staff, manage and coordinate EAL support and teaching; ensure smooth transition for EAL pupils from KS2 to KS3 and from KS3 to KS4, track and monitor pupil progress and create interventions where needed, co-ordinate home language examinations for EAL pupils, provide internal and external CPD, co-ordinate and lead Erasmus Plus teacher exchange programmes (until 2019), provide assessments and first language assessments for SEND EAL pupils, manage and organise EAL outreach work to other high schools, liaise with external agencies and charities, work as SLE.
