Maria Elena Chavez’ energy and endless enthusiasm for her work was (and remains) inspiring. While at the YWCA GLA, I quickly realized how deeply she cares for her community; advocating for her clients, staff, and volunteers, always with the intent to strengthen her community, promote equity, and provide quality enrichment services and much needed resources. She has an incredible talent in creating long term, positive change with diverse stakeholders, advocating for equity, empowerment, and social justice for all. She is a natural leader and partnership maker!
