Carolyn Fuss, Ph.D.

Throughout her professional life, Maria Draksin has held a variety of positions involving program creation, implementation, administration, and staff supervision, as well as group and individual counseling and communication on different issues. I first had the pleasure of knowing her as her supervisor in her position as Administrative Assistant in Student Affairs at NYU (Dental) during her earlier years of employment. In this role she coordinated many programs intended to enhance student development and the quality of student life, while also providing counseling and support services. In these different capacities Maria exhibited excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, energy, enthusiasm and humor, as well as a keen work ethic and sense of responsibility. Moreover, she worked well both independently and as part of a group and proved herself to be a compassionate and caring person who can readily establish a comfortable working relationship with different groups. Since that time Maria’s professional activities in the area of recreational program development and administration reflect her interest and expertise in working with a variety of populations, including those from diverse age groups and cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as her experience in supervising recreation personnel. She brings to this work a special sensitivity and responsiveness to those with special needs and a sincere interest in furthering their growth and well-being through the activities she oversees. I strongly recommend Maria for any position requiring the substantial experience and many professional and personal strengths she possesses, all of which make her an asset to any organization she joins.

Maria is a very fun person to be around. Some of her admirable qualities are persistence, dedication, and patients. I have seen others treat her in a rude way with her maintaining her composure and continue to deal with them in a caring, professional manner. She has the right personality and experience to take care of others. I highly recommend her for any position with no reservations.
