I have been an adjunct faculty at Different campuses of City Colleges of Chicago mainly Harold Washington and Truman Colleges, teaching several courses like Introduction to Meteorology, General Physical Science, Algebra and Calculus based College / Engineering Physics with lab.I have improved student retention, and classroom attendance, by introducing experiential learning methods to demonstrate abstract concepts creating a learning environment that emphasized students’ mastery of self-management skills. I am proud that I have been able to successfully teach a student population that is highly motivated but lacked a strong math and science background. Show less

I participated in different projects that involved the analysis of student success for different academic clusters compared with peer institutions, identification of new programs that could be offered at City Colleges and a best practices analysis for different academic clusters identifying pathways opportunity for programs offered at City Colleges. I also conducted a detailed study on Center of Distance Learning students (CDL) versus Non-CDL students in terms of enrollment and success over time, as well as quantifying the relation between student demographics and success for these population of students. I worked on these projects using different statistical tools such as the new Business Intelligence tool Open Book and the interactive data visualization software Tableau, that have helped me to improve my data analysis skills. In addition to these technical skills, working on these academic projects has prepared me to obtain a better understanding of the challenges confronted by two-year colleges. Show less

I worked as a Researcher in Experimental Nuclear Physics, with the STAR Collaboration, where I conducted research on properties of quark-gluon plasma created in heavy-ion collisions. During my graduate studies, I acquired working experience on software, hardware, computational physics, teamwork, and social skills, through interactions and collaboration with scientists from around the world. I performed statistical analysis on large particle collision data sets. Isupervised and maintained operation of particle accelerator and detector and as result of my research I successfully defended thesis on “Baryon to Meson Ratio in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions".
