Nov 2012 - Present
As a Mobile Counselor I was a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team that provided community-based treatment services to clients and family members referred to Seneca by San Francisco’s Comprehensive Child Crisis Services. My Mobile Counselor role involved me working as a member of a treatment team that provided services at the program site and in the community, included hospitals, schools, and family homes to support the children and families through times of crisis. In my work as a Mobile Counselor, I documented my services that included family-based mental health counseling, support, crisis-intervention, and case management services to children and families through mental health notes. In addition, in my role as a Mobile Counselor I was responsible for providing supervision of visits between children and parents who are referred by San Francisco’s Department of Family and Children’s Services and who were working toward reunification. The visits took place at a visitation center, foster family home, parent/relative home, or in the community. Supervision involved oversight of the interactions between parent and children, transportation to and from visits, and documentation of visits that were used for the family in court for their reunification process. -
Aug 2008 - Nov 2010
During my time as a Family/Program Aide I provided high quality respite services to caregivers (birth parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, and relative caregivers) of children who are at risk of abuse or neglected. During the respite I would engage children in age appropriate activities while providing for the children’s physical care and recreational, developmental, health, social and behavioral needs. In addition, I assisted with general administrative work and projects that supported services to families and the program when needed that include: making photocopies, filing and organizing program documentation. As a Family/Program Aide, I frequently participated in outreach events to inform families, the general public and private agencies about the services through presentations, telephone contact and producing written information in English and Spanish.
