  In 2008, I was appointed as Principal of Wexford Educate Together N.S., a new primary school under the patronage of Educate Together. I, along with the Board of Management, was tasked with developing a new primary school from the ground up. This multi-faceted role ensured that I gained vast experience across a wide variety of skills. Tasks undertaken and accomplished included:-Locating and developing a suitable building for the use of the school, This involved liaising with local builders, architects, the Department of Education and the the County Council.-Recruitment of staff, advertising of positions, interviewing candidates and mentoring of new teaching and ancillary staff -Establishing a working Board of Management under the supervision of Educate Together. I currently serve as secretary to this Board.-Promoting the school locally with information meetings, radio and newspaper interviews as well as nationally with the help of Educate Together-Development,implementation and assessment of a school plan for the teaching and learning of the Revised Primary School Curriculum 1999-Policy formation and implementation-Encouraging and supporting the development of the Parent and Student Council in the school.
