Responsible for the oversight and logistic organization of Project Hope - an initiative to resettle 100 Syrian Families in Toronto. I am also accountable for the planning and development of newcomer orientations sessions held at each refugee arrival, providing them with settlement help, through our partner settlement organization Catholic Cross-cultural Services. On a daily basis I work closely with the Settlement Educator to implement, execute and improve the Civic Resettlement Information sessions, newcomer meetings and resettlement group seminars, guest speakers and presentations. As a result I have obtained valuable experience in planning and organizing educational workshops and presentations. I am familiar with various immigration procedures and I work on a daily basis with Citizenship and Immigration Canada to arrange Interim Federal Health appointments for newcomers. I also am also familiar with with the use and practicality of webinars, blogs, and live-chat modules. I have experience with social media skills (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and the usefulness of each one to promote events, information and to communicate with clients. Show less
