      Master's thesis at the Department of Molecular Neurobiology (UB). The project was aimed at establishing the effects of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabivarin (offered by Phytoplant) on the endocannabinoid system for possible therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases and in addictions.       The project was aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms of interaction between plants and microbes. In particular, I studied the contribution of several members of the CYP71 family of P-450 enzymes to the response of Arabidopsis to the root pathogen Burkholderia glumae and to the synthesis of camalexin. The work resulted in the identification of several CYP71 isoforms with altered camalexin accumulation, that potentially represent new genes in the biosynthetic pathway. - Plant genetics: genotyping, crossing, qPCR, genetic transformation, reporter constructs. - Plant biochemistry: measurement of camalexin, glucosiniolates, thiols, anions (HPLC and ion chromatography). - Plant microbe interactions: co-cultivation assays.
