    • Administrative Assistant/ Youth Resource Specialist
      • jul. de 2015 - abr. de 2020

I currently work at CACSCW Inc in the dual role as the Administrative Assistant and also as the Youth Resource Specialist. As the Administrative Assistant I provide assistance to the agency as a whole and do multiple tasks and projects from coordinating and recording the Board Meetings to cleaning the breakroom frig. Basically, if there is a job that needs to be done, I will do my best to accomplish it. As a Youth Resource Specialist I help young adults who are leaving the foster care system or are otherwise disconnected from support systems by connecting them with resources that will help them live independently. This is proving to be a rewarding new challenge.

CAC is a great place to work! Every day I am eager to come to work for an organization that works so diligently to lift people out of poverty and toward self sufficiency. Each day there are new challenges but along with those challenges come great rewards. Working with people who truly care toward a common goal is an amazing feeling. In order to provide support to the caseworkers who are in the front line serving our mission, I work on a variety of tasks and projects that enhance their ability to serve individuals and families in our three county area. Some of these include coordinating board and committee meetings, general office duties, building relationships, purchasing and accounting support. I also supervise CAC's reception desk and free clothing center. I also use my knowledge of efficiency and training to streamline and improve processes and operations. I enjoy the wide variety of duties, challenges and problem solving opportunities that occur daily. I find that coaching and training the many volunteers that I work with provides me with fuel I need for personal growth. I am constantly reminded that everyone has gifts and that by recognizing those gifts and finding the right use for them, rewards the agency, participants, volunteers and myself.
