The Brain Research and Innovation centre (Expertisecentrum Militaire Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg in Dutch) focuses its research on psychological stress and trauma related symptoms and disorders in Dutch Military personnel. I play a supportive role in the execution of the research within the centre, for both senior researchers and PhD students. Some of my tasks include: collect information that researchers need to carry out their research, help collecting their data, program tasks and questionnaires, write information letters for test subjects, etc. Next to this, I also manage and improve our website (design), help figure out how processes within our research group can be improved and carry out treatment evaluations for our therapists. YOUth aims to map the (brain) development in young children from fetus to about 6 years of age (baby and child cohort) and teens from 9 to about 16 years old (child and adolescent cohort). As a research assistant I focus on the baby and child cohort. I guide and execute the data collection from three different experimental setups; EEG, eye-tracking and a parent-child interaction observation.
