  Until the day I gave birth to my daughter on Sept. 10th, I was the inpatient social worker in the pediatric intensive care unit at Mt. Sinai. I provided psycho-social assessments, investigated suspicions of neglect or abuse, coordinated discharge planning and provided supportive and grief counseling. Additionally, I co-led a perinatal bereavement support group for Spanish-speaking parents.
