The One By One program inspires middle school students, many of which will be the first generation in their family to graduate from high school and/or college, to reach for higher educational goals; develop leadership skills; and become involved in their community. Students in this program are exposed to college campuses and given opportunities to break down barriers with hopes of raising their educational expectations. One By One members visit college campuses that provide opportunities to speak with admissions and financial aid counselors as well as university students of color. For the majority of our students, this will be the first time experiencing a college campus. This sends a powerful message that these students CAN attend college! Show less
