Mareike is absolutely amazing. She is extremely professional, kind and a fantastic photographer. A complete professional who knew exactly how to get the best photos from the models. She developed a rapport with them and put them at ease straight away. I highly recommend her!

Photography is a very powerful tool. Using it for projects and campaigns to create visibility for people, who's voices are not heard is the guiding motivation of Aspectus. Empowerment through imagery is our way. Today social media creates new ways to communicate and connect- it allows us a wider view out in the world and a variety of perspectives. By using a participatory method we are sharing photography as a tool of storytelling to increase the perspectives. Our aim is to portray people trough their strength and use positive imagery as a way of empowerment.

As a press photographer I worked in a news agency contracted by the German Parliament, in a role that included press conferences, state visits and parliament discussions. Here I developed the skills required within an agency, including licencing, archiving, customer requests and networking with the media.
