Since January 2013 I worked in an advisory function in our Product Development Team, before transitioning to head the department in January 2020. I had variable practical contribution to specific projects; experience in upholstery, CAD modelling and rapid prototyping are invaluable skills as involved in this department. Work included development of foam and plastic injection tooling, and reverse engineering of hand formed seating parts through to working production componentry.This role also included product conceptualisation, initial product concept design and future market visualisation; as a part of this I visited global workplace events and trade shows each year to expand our knowledge base and international resource network.
