  AsaDuru is creating completely self-sufficient housing communities by using rammed earth construction, rainwater harvesting, wastewater treatment, solar energy and dynamic windows. We are a strong proponent of environmental consciousness within the construction sector. Today the built environment is responsible for 30% of global greenhouse gas emissions and 30-40% of global energy consumption. By building with rammed earth, using local earth, the embodied energy and carbon emissions of buildings are dramatically decreased. The name AsaDuru comes from the Adinkra saying “Asase Ye Duru”, which means “The Earth is Powerful” and symbolises the divinity of the Earth. Show less
