I recently attended a 'Leadership Skills' presentation by Marcus at #AMP. It was the best. most engaging and fascinating presentation with real/practical tools for leaders. Marcus is an outstanding presenter and understands his audience. Great work Marcus....absolutely loved it.

Simon Kelly

Marcus ran a 2 days sales workshops for our Singapore and Hong Kong teams. He kept everyone engaged, and used a nice balance of humour and insights to get his message across to a multicultural audience. If you need to make sure you get results from awaydays, I would highly recommend Marcus.

My entrepreneurial Act 1. Co-founded, built, grew, and sold Oxygen Learning / Phuel to ASX-listed STW Group. From 3 guys with a hunch and a handshake we grew it to 18 people in 3 offices delivering around 1,000 days of live facilitation, workshop training, and keynote speaking every year. I worked on the business finding, testing and scaling its content. I worked in the business doing 160 days on my feet in front of clients every year for 13 years. We sold the business to John Singleton's STW Group over 6 years from 2005 to 2011. A richly textured and glorious commercial experience. Show less

Smoked six figures of hard-earned in a SaaS platform business for brain training. If you take everything we know today about Lean Start-up and minimum viable product and invert it you get the catalogue of mistakes I made. I worked with wonderful passionate driven people on what proved to be really bad idea. Deep and precious entrepreneurial scar tissue carried proudly today. Then the youngest guy they had ever hired. I learnt about equine quarantine, freight on shuttlecocks, and sourcing thousands of volunteers as I had the unique pleasure of teaching presentation skills to the people organising the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Paralympic Games. It was a fabulous experience and I loved it. Today when people ask me "So, where did you cut your professional speaking teeth?" I say, "Rogen." Then the youngest guy they had ever hired. Excitement was a new 4-head Multi-System VCR and teletext being included in the 78 inch CRT TV. And we had just seen early versions of DVD players costing $4,000. Not to worry, we still had a good collection of Laser Discs. It was pitching to Brashs, Harvey's, Clive Peters, Retravision, Joyce Mayne, and the emerging JB. Back in the glory days when you could not put a plasma in your trolley next to your mineral water and bananas! Learnt a great appreciation for channels, supply chain and margin compression. Oh, and SPIV's... Show less

White station wagon, staple gun, bin wrap, planogram printout and gondola ends! A glorious experience in the tough world of FMCG retail. Although looking back when compared to today - we had it easy! An off-location display was only a couple of footy tickets away, and extra facings were easy to come by if you relayed the whole category at 6:30am on a Monday morning. Years later, I still can't stop myself from facing up the stock as I wander past oral care and hard-surface cleaning! White station wagon, staple gun, bin wrap, planogram printout and gondola ends! Bank-recs, wages, and Lotus 1-2-3 on a Compaq mono-coloured semi-portable PC - A wonderful start to working life from the commandeered client meeting room on site at the audit. Learnt a tremendous respect for the accounting profession and the at times delicate tensions in assurance work.
