Villalba is a multi-disciplinary design practice operating at the intersection between design and culture. Our services include research, consultancy, design, photography and Art Direction. We endeavour to create systems that are both rigorous and adaptable, reliable and resilient. We try to remove superfluous in order to reveal the essence of a project. The process is sometimes complex, the results are often deceptively simple. Villalba is a multi-disciplinary design practice operating at the intersection between design and culture. In 2008 Louis Vuitton held a competition – open to all students of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design – to design the window installations for their boutiques worldwide during the Christmas period. Our intention was to capture the materiality, craftsmanship and concept of travel associated with their products. Our winning proposal: a three-dimensional topographical map, built from the same poplar wood used to fabricate their trunks since it’s founding in 1854.In 2008 Louis Vuitton organised a competition – open to all students of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design – to design the window installations for their boutiques worldwide during the Christmas period. The philosophy behind DAC at Central Saint Martins is linked to a practice-led design research agenda and the understanding that design should address security issues without compromising functionality and other aspects of performance, or aesthetics.
