Senior DPO

The Senior DPO is the OIM/Master’s senior representative on the bridge and is responsible for the safe navigation/DP operations of the drillship and for complying with the International Regulations. Ensure all are carried out according to Company policies and procedures,To supervise and maintain the DP watch to the highest standards.To monitor weather reports.Carry out periodic checks on DP. Monitor, check and record all the vessel’s hydro-acoustic transponders and batteries.To ensure WSOG in accordance with aproved and distributed well prior to commencing well operations.To ensure a Watch Circle Analysis is conducted prior to commencing operations on well-site, Communicate with on-shift Toolpusher and Driller on the vessel’s position and heading when on drilling operations.Communicate between Radio Operator, supply vessels and deck.To periodically check all navigation and bridge ancillary equipment.Operate ballast system in order to maintain even keel,trim and operational draft. Monitor vessels fire and gas detection system at all times when on shift. To produce an accurate handover for your relief. Assist Chief Mate;Training To attend all training courses as required.To ensure all STCW95 licenses, medicals, ancillary courses are kept valid at all times.To ensure anyone working with you does so in a safe manner. Carry out emergency duties as directed by the OIM/Master and the Station Bill. Be conversant with all procedures and instructions pertaining to the operations of the vessel and to assume the required regulatory responsibility to exercise effective control and efficient operation of the vessel, under the direction of the OIM/Master and Chief Mate with due regards for the safety of the crew, the vessel and its contents and the protection of the environment.To ensure navigation charts and publications corrected up to the most recent notice to mariners at all times–both electronic and paper charts.To send daily bridge reports to all relevant personnel on vessel
