  Voyex is een energieke start-up in Delft waarin hard gewerkt wordt om LOHC's (liquid organic hydrogen carriers) onderdeel te maken van onze duurzame toekomst. LOHC's zijn vloeistoffen waarin waterstof opgeslagen kan worden. Deze vloeistoffen kunnen vervolgens simpel getankt worden (bijvoorbeeld door binnenvaartschepen), waarna de waterstof net voor de motor vrijkomt en gebruikt kan worden in een verbrandingsmotor of brandstofcel. De LOHC, waar dan geen waterstof meer in zit, wordt vervolgens bij het tanken weer teruggeleverd, om opnieuw waterstof in op te slaan. Zo is dit proces volkomen circulair, en kan de huidige infrastructuur gebruikt worden (dit in tegenstelling tot gecomprimeerd of vloeibaar waterstof). Bij Voyex zijn we bezig onze LOHC verder te ontwikkelen om uiteindelijk op de markt te brengen. Hierbij ligt de focus op de duurzame synthese van onze LOHC en het efficiënt opslaan van waterstof in de LOHC (hydrogenatie) en vrijkomen van waterstof uit de LOHC (dehydrogenatie). Ik ben daarbij verantwoordelijk voor het opschalen van het hydrogenatie- en dehydrogenatieproces, door onder andere data te vergaren uit onze pilot plant (productie in de schaal van kg/hr) en deze te gebruiken voor het ontwerp van een demonstratie plant (productie in de schaal van ton/dag).
