  Volunteer at Maritime Radio. Roles consist of helping with the running of shows as well as providing the main presenters with presenting points and current and trendy songs to play. I have also provided them with some voice acting work for their 'Ghost Stories' Christmas radio plays. Due to covid reasons my time spent here has been reduced but there are plans to get back to volunteering in the near future with potential speaking and presenting opportunities available to me.

  Part time employment in a specialist packaging factory. Roles included general factory maintenance and ensuring the surrounding site was kept up to a high standard of cleanliness. I also assisted in running many of the packaging machines and was on hand whenever a coworker need help. I gained skills in planning and organising, having to delegate job tasks in order of importance and work out how much time was needed for each. I also gained leadership skills telling my coworkers when things needed to be cleaned and when supplies needed to be moved for lorry deliveries arriving in the day.

  temporary work during the summer to aid my final year at university. Roles included stock taking and checking, loading and unloading grocery cages, serving customers on tills and making the store look presentable. From this experience I learnt how to correctly communicate with customers and made sure that they felt comfortable in the store. I also became more safety and security aware as there were a number of minor robberies that occurred during the period in which I worked. I experienced the value of teamwork when covering in other Tesco express stores in the area when they lacked staff due to holidays or illness.

  Here, I gained more experience of working in a busy environment and made wraps and burritos for customers. I also did jobs like washing up the dishes and maintaining a general cleanliness around the store which were equally essential to serving the customers and preparing their food. This job involved a lot of teamwork and each employee worked at a different section and in turn formed a work chain to ensure the food was prepared efficiently and made to the top standard. From this, my communication skills improved massively a long with teamwork and my ability to work under pressure.

  Part time employment on a busy Churros Stall. Roles included serving customers, making Churros, cashing up and closing at the end of business. Roles also included operating a cash register and on numerous occasions dealing with difficult customers. In working on a Churros Stall, I learned how to deal with problematic customers efficiently as well as ensure that both the customer and the business are happy with the resolution of the issue raised. This efficiency was essential as the stall became very busy at times, particularly during the Christmas period.An example of this good customer service was when a customer was unhappy with her order as she felt she had been waiting a long time only to receive cold churros. This problem was dealt with by cooking up a fresh batch of churros and replacing the cold ones with the fresh batch. As a way of apology a few extra churros were added to her order.

  Part time work during holidays. Duties included bar work and waiting at busy high-profile events. From working here, I received formal training in serving, waiting and bar work. Some of the training included the correct and formal way of setting a table and how to open bottles of champagne, wine etc. I also got taught formal methods of communicating with customers and this helped me learn how to engage in more formal conversation and helped develop my skills in connecting with different customers and people.   Worked at ‘Ray Petty Meccanica” an Italian Motorcycle workshop in Greenwich. Part time work during school holidays following a weeks work experience. Duties included serving customers, cleaning and assisting with maintenance of customers bikes. Assisted with the preparation and settling of invoices. I answered the phone being the initial point of contact to address customers’ queries. I assisted with the company’s involvement in and promotion at a large motorcycle event. Not only did I gain some knowledge of motorcycle maintenance but also experience in dealing with money and larger orders. There were times were customers would order specific motorcycle parts and often it was my job to process these orders, in turn learning about dealing with money and increasing my customer relations abilities.
