My position is of Math Intervention Specialist where I oversee students who have math disabilities and are in need of extra math help. I tutored disadvantaged High School students Math. The program was designed to significantly increase the number of low-income students who attend and graduate from a college/university. The first group of students has moved on to Monroe High School, and the program will follow both grade levels throughout graduation from high school. GEAR UP/Project LASSO supports these students and their families by providing academic support and counseling, tutoring, mentors, summer enrichment programs, free PSAT testing, free college level courses, parent workshops, college tours and advisements. Research Scholar

As a research scholar, I wrote an undergraduate thesis on US immigration solutions via international relations. I received mentorship and guidance in writing the thesis from Dr. Renne Moreno and Dr. James Mitchell of Cal State Northridge. The Ronald McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, which was developed in his honor, is a nationwide undergraduate program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The fundamental purpose of the program is to assist students who, by virtue of their ethnicity or socioeconomic backgrounds, have historically been excluded from pursuing careers in academia. This program is composed of a large team of individuals including peers, faculty and staff who seek to aid these students in their transition from undergraduate life to graduate school and ultimately into a PhD program.
