  The Manager of Treatment Planning and Radiation Therapy is responsible for planning, organizing, leading and evaluating the staff, resources and functioning of radiation treatment. S/he establishes goals and objectives for the Radiation Therapy Program and ensures that policies, practices and procedures are in place to ensure goals and objectives are met. The manager is the Education Director for the Medical Radiation Sciences Program at Mohawk College and McMaster University and oversees the Clinical Coordinator(s)/Clinical Leaders/Didactic Teachers in providing leadership/direction to Radiation Therapy students. Additional responsibilities include preparing and managing the departmental budget and collaborating in the strategic planning process along with providing leadership and support for research.The Head focuses on both strategic and operational issues across the organization. The Head works within a collaborative model as an advocate for the profession, professional practice and the delivery of quality patient care. The Head is accountable for developing and monitoring a profession-specific strategic plan aligned with the organization’s strategic plan (mission, vision, goals and objectives). The Head is accountable for ensuring the establishment, implementation and evaluation of standards of practice in alignment with the respective regulatory body and/or professional association. The Head is accountable for ensuring the continuing advancement of the professional practice through education and research. The Head is accountable for developing and implementing a profession-specific communication plan aligned with the communication plans for the organization and the Professional Advisory Committee
