Working part-time at Itau Animal feeds provided me with various skills in quality control and food safety which I am very thankful for. This job gave me experience with ISO22000 and AFMA standards. I worked in the laboratory testing raw material and final products as well as analyzing the results. I gained experience in the use and set up of system operating procedures. This was a job where I was allowed to make my own decisions and question the system to get a better understanding. I was allowed to make mistakes and learn from them as each moment was a learning opportunity. I had a supervisor who trusted me and was confident that I was able to complete all the tasks given to me. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the animal feed industry whilst still being able to study to complete my degree.
