Employed voluntarily as a Call Handler progressing to supervisor.Taking calls from people of all demographics who are in distress that need to have someone to listen to them confidently and non-judgmentally. I also involved in this role is record keeping and other administration tasks. I attend monthly reflection sessions with my colleagues headed by a qualified psychologist in order for us to maintain good working practices.I believe my colleagues and I offer a unique and valuable service to the community and I am proud to be able to support people when they feel they have no one else to turn to.

I assisted with writing a grant to Time To Change to run a regional project called Brolly Talk.This eventually lead to me being employed as a volunteer Coordinator for the project.As with most posts in the 3rd sector my job role is very diverse and will often change as the project develops. However, at the core my main tasks are;Recruiting and training of volunteers with mental health issuesPublic speaking about mental health,Booking and running eventsCollecting and collating data,Setting up and managing the projects Website and social media outlets.

Setting up various community interest groups and community events throughout Somerset.Also during my second year as a community organizer I ran Mind In Taunton and West Somersets digital communities and Websites.Through this work I helped form several support groups for Mind In Taunton & West Somerset.

Spent four very enjoyable, although very challenging, years at The Manor Care home firstly as a Care Assistant and progressed through to Senior within 2 and a half years of being with the company.

Bakery Sales Administrator

My role at Tesco was to not only prepare and bake bread products but to also administer large customer orders and to stock take of ingredients for baking such as flour, yeast ect.As much as I enjoyed my time at Tesco my interests changed as I began to mature. I wished to work in a role that would allow me to make a difference in peoples lives which I felt wasn't achievable while working on the shop floor of a supermarket.

Ward Assistant

Worked on many wards in Musgrove Park hospital maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the Ward and staff areas.As a Ward assistant I was regularly called upon to assist in all areas of non nursing work such as;Maintaining stock of food items and cleaning materials,Ordering and serving of food to our service users,Assisting service users to theater and wards.
