I know Marc Derieppe since May 2013, when I joined the Prof. Moonen's group at UMC Utrecht. At the interface of optics and biology, his PhD thesis is devoted to the dynamic aspects of real-time monitoring of ultrasound-mediated crossing of biological barriers in image-guided drug delivery using fibered confocal fluorescence microscopy. During this interdisciplinary project, he demonstrated his aptitude to design and perform independently the experiments and post-process the images. In this context, Marc Derieppe acquired highly desirable research skills, including fibered confocal fluorescence microscopy, magnetic resonance imaging, image post-processing together with mathematical modeling.
