Setting up and Relocating Equipment Data and Sample Collection Using: LI-Core 8100, Moisture Gauges, Picarro G2101-i Gas Analysers, Soil Augers, ThetaProbe "or" Hydrosense "II" moisture probe. Objective was to gather information on the accuracy of field-based instrumentation for the measurement of soil-respired CO2 at high spatial and temporal resolution. As a TROBIT Team Member our role was to gather information to build upon studies already carried out in this area. In a team of four to five, more than 3600 trees in six permanent plots established in the tropical rainforests and savannas in the Far North Queensland. My Duties included: - Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire the standardised skills of measuring trees’ and vines’ diameters, assessed in details the health conditions and carefully identify the cause of death, according to internationally established RAINFOR protocols - Identifying and Counting New Growth - Exhibited excellent communication and inter-personal skills through collaborating with experienced botanists and plant ecologists in Queensland. - Locating plots using GPS points - Marking Perimeter of 100m x 100m Grid - Scribing and Rechecking Measurements Show less
