I previously operated as the Graduate Assistant to Dr. Malcom Merriweather in the Choral/Vocal Music Department. As an assistant, my duties include managing student attendance as well as instructing them outside of the classes if they need extra help with learning their music. I also am responsible for leading soprano sectionals and warm-ups for the choral ensembles. I oversaw all music programming duties as Director of Music and was responsible for rehearsing and leading two ensembles in performance--the Rev. G. Douglass Memorial Handbell Choir and the Sanctuary Choir. Additionally, I hired musicians for performance during the summer months when the choirs were in their off-season. As a Long Term Substitute Music Teacher, I was responsible for leading 4 separate performing groups at the school comprised of students grades 7-12. I also taught two sections of Music History to the 9th-grade class. Outside of the school-day responsibilities, I worked to increase student enrichment by involving them in programs hosted by the NEPA Philharmonic and the NEPA Choral Society and preparing and organizing festival events and field trips for them to perform in the Harrisburg area. This position carried a strong emphasis on stage productions, with my involvement specializing in lighting design and stage direction. I have experience working with both smart and traditional lighting units in the ETC ION console system, including programming and addressing units and designing looks for various stage productions.
