I’ve worked with María Inés for more than six years in the English language training business, first when she worked in the Commercial Area, and later when we founded and grew together in the English Content Development Team within the Product and Technology Department at eClass. Most recently, we worked very closely managing the product and content. Mané’s role is instrumental to the smooth functioning of all the different areas of the company involved in the planning and execution of the content. Mané’s responsibilities within the company are diverse and indispensable. She is the contact between the English Content team and the rest of the company. She participates in the internal management and strategy meetings as well as sales meetings with clients. She is in charge of training the other areas of the company in the fundamentals of the English product, adaptations and customizations. In addition to creating and maintaining the Product Manual, she also assembles the final product on the platform with all the necessary elements. On top of all that, she is also known for her disposition to help wherever and whenever needed. Most remarkable about Mané as an employee is that she is enterprising and solution-driven. She was self-motivated to identify and fulfill all of the necessities of her role within the company and she maintains a global vision of the product that helps fuse content standards with company and client needs. In terms of the overall product, she proposes ideas to the commercial area that will satisfy the customer’s needs and achieve our educational objectives without sacrificing our high standards of quality. On a content level, she finds innovative solutions to satisfy our development requirements as educators. Mané has a special talent for communicating within our team (in English as well as in Spanish) and with other interdisciplinary teams. Even those without years of training in language acquisition are able to understand the details of every program and the opportunities and limitations of teaching language (versus teaching hard skills) through our Blended learning and face-to-face curricula thanks to Mané’s ability to communicate the essential features of the product. Beyond her ability to educate, she also regularly mitigates misunderstandings that stem from language or cultural differences, or because of different needs or goals between areas. She is emotionally intelligent about others’ needs and limitations and navigates those limitations with finesse.
