The Facilitator will complete the objectives outlined in a national Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) funded pilot project focused on the expansion of HIV-self testing. The Facilitator will focus on improving well-being, engagement and retention in care for individuals from key marginalized populations vulnerable to HIV, hepatitis C, sexually transmitted infections and blood borne illnesses (HIVSTBBIs). The Facilitator will use components of our model of community support, enhancing participant’s self-efficacy through promotion of adopting HIV self-testing, and promoting repeat testing as an HIV prevention and care strategy. Additional tasks include:- Assisting with support to individuals impacted by HIV and related stigmas.- Providing warm referrals to other relevant programs and services.- Providing education to and empowering participants.- Building capacity with outside providers to reduce stigmas, fostering safer environments for participants seeking outside supports and services.- Assisting with connections to ACCKWA’s support, specific prevention and Cambridge MACS-focused programs.
