Manuel and I worked together in strategy, acquisitions planning and execution. As a member of my team, he worked in the most significant projects we did. The ability to perform under pressure and to develop trust-based relationships across company functions, ranks and geographies are Manuel’s most salient qualities. He is also a good listener and process-oriented yet flexible to accommodate other team member’s constrains. This and his will to help others, even when outside of his scope of work, has gained him many friends in the company. It also resulted in successful management of complex programs like the synergies delivery linked to our acquisition of Loders Croklaan. Finally, he cares about others’ success which made him a good manager of project team members without the need for a reporting line.
