My work comprises of development, analysis and interpretation of metabolic pathway models regulated by signalling and genetic networks. For instance I have linked the hepatic metabolism model with meal simulation, oxidative stress pathways, body weight and liver enzyme dynamics sub-models. I have incorporated the effects of carbohydrate (simple and complex) and fat (unsaturated and saturated) types in the model. Building such comprehensive models help in personalising short term and long term… Show more My work comprises of development, analysis and interpretation of metabolic pathway models regulated by signalling and genetic networks. I have incorporated the effects of carbohydrate (simple and complex) and fat (unsaturated and saturated) types in the model. Building such comprehensive models help in personalising short term and long term metabolic response during different physiological conditions (healthy, unhealthy – NAFLD, Diabetes, Obesity). It also helps in determining the efficacy of various lifestyle interventions in treating abnormal conditions related to Metabolic Syndrome. Some of the tasks which I perform are as following, - Parameter estimation via optimisation. - Parameter personalisation. - Analysing the effect of healthcare products (Nutraceuticals, Pharmaceuticals) on metabolic health - Analysing and controlling emergent responses like unwanted oscillations, ultrasensitivity, multiple steady states in these non-linear models.
