Manu has been serving the GRAMMY® winning ensemble since 2008, regularly performing & premiering symphonic and chamber works, recording multiple CD albums and has participated at several international concert tours. He has also prepared scores for Artistic Director Emeritus John Alexander. He continues to sing with the group under its new conductor Dr. Robert Istad both in the 120-voice group and the Chorale's professional chamber ensemble (formerly known as the John Alexander Singers). He has also appeared as a soloist with Pacific Symphony, Maestro Carl St. Clair, conductor. Cathedra, meaning "seat," the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is the seat of the Archbishop and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Located in the heart of downtown LA, the Cathedral Choir sings 52 Sunday services a year, including Priesthood & Diaconate ordinations, White & Red masses, Advent celebration and the observance of Lent, as well as community outreach performances with the LA Opera. Worked closely with the Artistic Director, Manu led the ensemble to weekly rehearsals held at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Hollywood, prepared and conducted the group to its regular concert season. He also prepared scores, assisted in singer auditions and gave voice lessons to members as needed. PCSLA has performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Zipper Hall, Renée & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, and has prepared the choir for renowned conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Grant Gershon, John Alexander & Joseph Modica. Chorus America's Conducting Academy provides choral conductors the opportunity to "develop and build choral-orchestral conducting skills and career advancement in a supportive learning environment with master teachers." Hosted by the California State University Fullerton (July 9-15, 2017), all participants will focus on on the works of Haydn Lord Nelson Mass and Duruflé Requiem "with special emphasis on conducting and rehearsing string orchestras." Faculty include Robert Istad, John Alexander, Lucinda Carver, David Hayes & Duain Wolfe. Manu has performed with the world-renowned, and the most awarded choir in Asia for almost a decade. The Madz specializes in the "madrigal," a style flourished during the Renaissance, singing seated in a semi-circle in musical chairs. Manu has sung under its founding choirmaster, Prof. Andrea Veneracion from 1990-1997, and her successor & current choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio fro, 2005-2008. Manu has traveled extensively with the award-winning ensemble to countless concert tours around the globe, performing at international choral festivals, command performances, and winning at the toughest choral competitions in Europe. Students mostly come from both local and neighboring Asian countries, Manu has helped diverse students develop their singing abilities and have them ready to sing either a folksong, tune from a church hymnal, an aria or an art song in jury examinations at the end of each semester.
