Part of the startup leadership team, working directly with Dr Vijay Mallya, its founder. Set up the entire sales organization, the distribution network, the revenue management system and the route network for the airline. Responsible for driving the Sales P&L of the airline. Set up the entire sales network (direct and indirect) across all markets in India and abroad.Through an aggressive sales and revenue management strategy drove an 11% market share in its first full year of operation and the No 2 position in India by the end of year 2. Drove an aggressive corporate acquisition program that resulted in over 1000 signed corporate accounts in the first 18 months of operations. Tied up with over 50 global partner airlines in Europe, USA, Middle East and South Asia for interline and sales agreements in the first 18 months. Responsible for conceptualizing and creating key strategic products like the corporate and consumer co brand card with American Express, the loyalty card for the airline, corporate coupons, trade loyalty program, bookers program etc. Managed the entire call centre process for the airline of over 10000 calls a day. Set up the entire online and GDS distribution of the airline.
