I had the opportunity to visit with Manuel over lunch on a few occasions. I was extremely impressed with the fact that he reached out on his own to inquire about the BIM and VDC process. After discussing with process and how it impacts the electrical installation, I let him know that he could have the opportunity to work with the BIM department. He happily declined, wanting to gain more field knowledge and finish his degree. I cannot think of a better reason to be turned down. His forward thinking and embracing of technology is what the electrical industry needs.

Manuel and I met at Alamo colleges district. I had the privilege to work around him. A genius who really knows how to apply his knowledge of electrical principles to action and if it was not for Manuel. I wouldn’t have passed my physics courses. Manuel is a great leader and influencer. He paved the road for us and our group. Definitely see a big future for him as an Electrical Engineer.

Utilizing software programs like AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel to design and calculate different projects. Aid the design team with background knowledge of electrical installations, strong NEC codebook understanding, creating dynamic blocks, and develop Dynamo scripts for Revit projects. Help in creating a standardized and organized work flow process as well as creating resourceful documents. Assist other engineers on site visits to bring an alternate perspective and provide recommendations for best design, instrumentation configurations, and future expansion or maintenance considerations. This role has allowed me to expand my knowledge in other codes like the IECC, IBC, IFC, researching local utility and client standards. Primary focus has been to fully grasp engineering concepts, provide neat work, and engaging with future development tools to provide a competitive edge. Show less
