  Sound Village is an Artiste Management & Music Consultancy company. I founded the company as a partner in 2013. As a company, it changed into a sole proprietorship in 2017 and undertakes Artiste Management, Live Concerts and Marketing of the artists who are on the roster. Sound Village's artiste roster has included Shafqat Amanat Ali, Sanam Marvi, Anirban Bhattacharya and Javed Bashir. I am the global business manager of singing sensation Shafqat Amanat Ali and manage his live concerts, Bollywood work and content strategy for him under Sound Village. As his exclusive manager for over 9 years, I have conceptualised and executed his brand and artiste strategy in India and overseas which includes - Release, Marketing & Distribution of his Independent music in India and overseas, tie-ups with music labels, Presence and work in Bollywood music, Presence in key music platforms of the sub-continent including Coke Studio, MTV Unplugged, Dewarists to name a few as well as his presence as Judge in Music Reality Shows. His 360 degree profile including appearance on award shows such as IIFA, Mirchi Music Awards and other properties has been orchestrated and facilitated by me. His media presence as well as Live Music tours and festivals in India and overseas have been overseen and executed by me for the last decade.   Routes 2 Roots is an NGO engaged in dissemination of culture and cultural education since 2004 for peace through people to people contact. It has hosted hundreds of live concerts, cultural festivals, theatre festivals, film festivals, art exhibitions, student exchange programs. It is now running the world's largest digital cultural education program in the world. I am heading operations for Routes 2 Roots as a C.O.O. in a part time role for their special project VIRSA -- A program of teaching Performing Arts Digitally to children across India. I have designed the program with the founders of the NGO for the cultural education of students across India. As a passionate music professional I do believe that art and culture appreciation is a must for children in any country, more so India. As part of the program I have designed the structure of the program including building a board of advisory consisting of the leading legends of the country including Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Dr L Subramaniam, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Ehsaan Noorani, Shafqat amanita Ali, Kavita Krishnamurty, Shovana Narayan, Juhi Chawla and a body of contributing maestros including Amaan Ali Bangash, Ayaan Ali Bangash, Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Rakesh Chaurasia, Rajnish Mishra, Ritesh Mishra and Shubhendra Rao among others. I have also built a faculty of teachers for 15 different disciplines of performing arts in music and dance. These teachers are all leading exponents of the art forms they represent and I have been instrumental in designing the curriculum of the program with them. Show less

  Music Today is the music label of the India Today Group, one of the leading media conglomerates of India consisting of Newspapers, Magazines, News channels & Radio stations. I started as A&R and moved on to add the role of Marketing before taking up responsibility as the General Manager of the music label. My role included Conceptualising New Content & Recording & packaging it, Acquiring New Content and Product management, Artiste Management, Conceptualising Live Events, Marketing Tie-Ups for New Releases & Revenues from New Releases – Physical & Digital & Managing the Audio & Home Video business. Key Achievements included - Overseeing the Highest number of releases & Adding significant new artistes to the catalogue in new genres - Hans Raj Hans in the Sufi Genre, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma & Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia in the Devotional genre, Shankar Mahadevan in the regional genre, Shafqat Amanat Ali in the Sufi & Fusion genres, Talvin Singh & Pete Lockett in the World music genres. I headed the team which conceptualised Events & multi-city tours while spearheading content, logistics & commercials of the events. I undertook Marketing Tie-Ups and Barters for Releases & Events & Forayed into film & pop genres along with assisting with the launch of a new label ‘Hitz Today’, the launch of economy label ‘Rhimjhim’ targetted at smaller towns and the launch of a new label for the youth – ‘DadA Music’.I also spearheaded DAM and the Wireless & Online Music business as well as the Publishing Network of Music Today. I spearheaded the launch of Classical music Ring tones with Airtel. The concerts I conceptualised and organised for the label included artistes such as Shafqat Amanat Ali, Jassi, Runa Laila, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash,Taufiq Qureshi, Rakesh Chaurasia, Prem Joshua, Wadali Brothers, Hans Raj Hans, Master Saleem, Pandit Jasraj, Amjad Ali Khan, Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Abida Parveen, Gulzar, Shabana Azmi, Tabu, Dr L Subramaniam and many others.   Delhi Mid Day was a well known afternoon daily with dedicated readership. I joined the newspaper as an intern and went on to become a sub editor for the afternoon daily. I also covered special stories or features for the newspaper in the culture and human interest beats.
