EWB-KNUST, Engineers Without Borders works with disadvantaged communities in Ghana to improve their quality through education and the implementation of practical, environmentally, and economically sustainable engineering projects. In my administration as the PRO, I plan to take EWB's Publicity to the next level and sell the club to the larger student body of the University.

As part of a collaborative program between EWB-KNUST and EWB-ISU supported by the US Embassy, I was privileged to be selected together with 3 other EWB volunteers for a five-week trip to Iowa State University of Science and Technology, USA. This was also made possible under the University Partnership Initiative program of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The purpose of the trip included (every single one of which was achieved as a team) : 1. To strengthen collaboration between EWB-KNUST and EWB-ISU. 2. To build students' capacity and expose them to diverse approaches to problem-solving. 3. To experience American university settings and cultural diversity. During my stay at ISU, I had the opportunity to engage in some activities which I have shared in the attached Google Docs and Google photos. Civil Engineering Intern

Oct 2021 - Dec 2021
In my internship experience with Arcscale, I was able to develop my communication, confidence, and technical and practical, Microsoft Word and Excel skills (just to mention a few). I particularly found the experience of being in the environment useful in improving my field-related skills. I found being on a very site valuable in my learning since I was able to apply knowledge learned from the classroom on the field and understand better. I was able to: • Prepared monthly progress reports • Reviewed documents • Applied knowledge gained in school to build upon skills and learn more too. • Enhanced communication skills and confidence skills. • Presence at official meetings: 1. Encourage expression of thoughts and idea sharing 2. Encourage collaboration and participation 3. Decrease dominating behavior and make team members feel included 4. Encourage my sense of purpose within a team 5. Support my creative thinking • Built a lasting network and relationship with persons I encounter Show less
