New Brunswick Adaptive Particle Encapsulation using Digital Opto-Fluidic Lithography • Devised an adaptive particle encapsulation system by brining together DLP technology and Stop Flow Lithography. • The system built is capable of producing micro-particles at a rate of 18,000/hr. • Developed a new method for microfluidic device fabrication using Projection Micro Stereo lithography. • Built a compressed air driven flow control system capable of rapid dynamic response and precise control. •… Show more Adaptive Particle Encapsulation using Digital Opto-Fluidic Lithography • Devised an adaptive particle encapsulation system by brining together DLP technology and Stop Flow Lithography. • The system built is capable of producing micro-particles at a rate of 18,000/hr. • Developed a new method for microfluidic device fabrication using Projection Micro Stereo lithography. • Built a compressed air driven flow control system capable of rapid dynamic response and precise control. • Compiled a MATLAB code for real time detection of the suspended particles and digital mask generation. • Coded a LabVIEW program for the hardware integration of the entire system. • This particle encapsulation methodology can be extended to cell encapsulation, which is highly useful for cancer research, stem cell study and artificial tissue generation. 3D Printing of Lightweight Micro-lattice with Tunable Mechanical Properties • Designed various micro lattice structures using SOLIDWORKS. • 3D printed Shape Memory Polymer micro-lattices using an in-house built projection micro stereo lithography system. • Mechanical testing of the 3D printed SMP lattices to study the tunable properties. • This SMP 3D Printing can further be used to make custom cardiovascular stents.
