When the Indian economy was opened up during early 90’s, Indian Industry had to constantly strive towards becoming competitive with many global players entering Indian Market. Many new philosophies, tools & techniques were adopted by the Indian Industry to achieve this objective. One such philosophy which has been very successfully adopted was Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). With 167 Indian companies becoming comparable to their Japanese counterparts, many more have come to embrace TPM for competitiveness, growth, sustenance of results and as a way of life.
