Currently a Level 3 Teaching Assistant within a Special Needs High School. Working with & supervising individuals & groups of students. Frequently undertaking the role of Cover Supervisor, teaching whole classes when required. My practice is inclusive & caters for specific individual learning needs. I support classroom management & behaviour techniques. Overall responsibilities provide support for students, teachers, curriculum & the school. I am proud of the excellent relationships that I form with students & colleagues alike & believe that being a good role model supports this. I have a keen awareness of individual student needs & respond appropriately to these, ensuring effective interactions. I provide specific support to students depending upon their individual needs & ensure their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities. I have experience in the development & implementation of student targets & enjoy promoting inclusion & the acceptance of all. Encouraging students to interact with others & engage in activities is a key part of my role. I find it most rewarding when promoting self-esteem & independence by employing strategies to recognise & reward achievement. Another important part of my role is to provide feedback to students in relation to their ongoing progress & achievement.Within my role as cover supervisor I deliver lessons in teachers absence & provide clerical & administrative support. Creating purposeful, orderly & supportive environments is also part of my role. I am able to utilise various strategies to support students in achieving learning goals & am competent in reporting student achievements, progress & issues as appropriate. A rewarding aspect of my role is to promote excellent student behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict & encouraging students to take responsibility for their behaviour.I am able to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers, participating in feedback sessions and meetings as required.
