      I worked with pôle PIC of DARES (part of the French Ministry of Labour) to evaluate the impact of "Plan d'investissement dans les compétences" (PIC) on the supply of skill development and training of the unemployed in France. I worked directly with Pauline Givord (cheffe du pôle) and her adjoint Anne Bucher. I explored and analysed the Bilans pédagogiques et financiers (BPF) to understand the kinds of firms engaged in training the unemployed, the duration and costs of trainings and their evolution over the period 2018-2020. I narrowed the perimeter of my study in order to isolate the impact of PIC from other concurrent reforms. I also used geographic data at the level of the commune to assess the accessibility of training for the unemployed across different French regions. My work was used for the third report of the scientific committee set up by the French government for the evaluation of PIC under the chairmanship of Prof. Marc Gurgand.
