The 3 years of professional experience centered around the following two projects: Local Governance Project  Women and Political participation: Conducted research on five countries (Egypt, Tunis, Algeria, Yemen, and Lebanon) to establish the level of representation of women in local councils and municipalities to evaluate the extent of empowerment; level of involvement in decision making and power sharing. Identified and analyzed and compared relevant texts on national and local governance legislation, national election laws, provisions for Parliamentary Elections. Prepared the study abstracts for the five countries and the relevant policy Briefs. The result of this work was published on the web.  Call for Paper: Arab Women and Legislation  Expert Database.  Legislation Database: Undertook research to identify, consolidate, and analyze relevant text of national legislation and local governance (constitutions, local governance legislation, national election laws, etc.) and maintained an active database.  Assisted the Project's coordinator to maintain a current website on local Governance, drawing on several studies covering North African countries, including current statistics. CAWTAR Database Project  CAWTAR legal database: identified, analyzed and consolidated relevant laws, constitutions, legal texts and provisions related to Parliamentary Elections in Egypt, Tunis, Algeria, Yemen, and Lebanon  Updating library catalogue: identified relevant books and references that could be used in project related research. • Administrative Officer – Development Group for Agriculture Engineering and commerce (AGRENCO), Alexandria Egypt (1990 – 1992) – Responsibilities consisted of business administration tasks • Assistant to Department Head, Civil Engineering Department at Montana State University (1990 – 1992) – Responsible for data entry and processing of the department expenditures and budget.
