My roles and responsibilities included effectively working as a team in subsections and taking on a leadership role in training the new students. Prepping, deburring and riveting the aircraft components to contrast the fuselage of the slingshot aircraft. I was also responsible for co-ordinating stock checks and tool control, from this i learnt time management and organisation and the importance of tool control and the health and safety risk assessments to carry out. I also observed multiple strategies and techniques for engineering tasks such as construction, repairing and maintenance.This experience was a very demanding one as I had to travel weekly to RAF Cosford work on the aircraft. • Two-week gliding scholarship at London Gliding Club, sponsored by the Air League. • 2 Hours and 59 Minutes, 17 Launches. • Learnt and applied preflight safety checks (CB SIFT BEC), preparing the aerotow or winch launch. • Learnt the controls and what to do if the glider stalls and how to carry out the eventualities. • Frequently spotted airplanes as it was close to Luton Airport, which was amazing fun • I took the opportunity to network with pilots to gain a deeper understanding of what it takes and what it’s like to become a pilot. A three-day virtual work experience placement which explored sustainability factors in the aerospace sector. Collaborating as a team apart of a project aswell as undertaking tasks that are affiliated with being an aerospace engineer. Such as mapping out the route of a drone with caution of the countries guidelines. As well as creating a country profile, as to what their countries customs are, as a template to show different types of research that have to be undertaken in order to carry out operations in another country, whilst taking into consderation sustainability. Attended a 3 day residential stay at University of Wawrick as apart of an engineering conference. Whilst at the engineering conference I gained an insight into various sectors of engineering including : Formula 1 Motorsports, Civil Engineering and Software Enginering. Presented a civil engineering based project to ramdoll employees which included designing a school with consideration of sustainability. However, many engineering principles had to be enabled due to the complexity, such as creating a bridge over a canal. My suggestion being a steel metal truss system with a concrete overlay. As part of the Holiday and Food scheme in Birmingham, which launched many holiday programmes, I was responsible for 30 children daily in term holidays. Here I had to provide a healthy environment as well as co-ordinating and executing activities including group games, art activities and outside play for a fun experience. Here I learnt the importance of teamwork to ensure a safe environment as well as communicating with the children and their parents.
