Each student has an Individualized Education Program that provides a comprehensive, individually focused service plan. Citizen Schools is a national non-profit after-school education program for students in the middle grades (5th, 6th, 7th and 8th). Citizen Schools implements a multi-faceted strategy that includes communicating regularly with teachers about class requirements and student progress; providing students with structured time to complete homework, communicating frequently with students' families to support academic development; and delivering age-appropriate curricula for students to achieve Math and ELA competency. Citizen Schools also complement classroom learning by engaging students in hands-on learning projects called apprenticeships lead by professional educators and community volunteers. • Worked with14-15 students to implement academic goals, improve oral communication and leadership skills.
