Components of the plan included: • Establishing a Global IT governance process to review and confirm strategy, priorities, funding levels and budgets and to drive and manage Change within the organization. • Transformation of the decentralized and localized IT function into a global integrated IT team with Group wide technical standards, policies and procedures • Utilizing creative approaches to address organizational constraints (limited resources and budget) such as the creation of an internal “off-shore” shared service team, “Virtual Work Teams” to leverage shared resources, leveraging and renegotiating software License agreements, vendor arrangements and commitments. • Developed a Financial Planning, Budgeting/Forecasting and Financial Consolidation system (utilizing COGNOS and a Data Warehouse tool) to consolidate multiple acquisitions. • Developed and commenced implementation of an ERP consolidation strategy (utilizing SAP) and a GMP Quality Applications strategy. • Led and deployed infrastructure strategy to consolidate and integrate multiple acquired companies including consolidation of network domains, migration to a single MPLS network carrier, implemented WAN acceleration technology ($1m cost avoidance), implemented VoIP capability (50% reduction in international calls), a Unified Messaging pilot program and consolidated major Data Centers.
