Recruited through the prestigious Taj GET Programme, my first posting was at our flagship hotel in Bangalore- The Taj West End. A new concept being tried out by our Learning and Development team led to a very hands-on experience in the first year, working alongside the same people who I was leading, unlike my seniors who were given a posting in the manager's office when they joined. This led to a very rigorous first year where I learnt the nuances of leadership, being in-charge of team members who were significantly older than me. This experience gave me insights into the working of blue-collared workers, which helps me to this day.Achievements: Managed energy-saving measures that helped reduce daily power consumption from ~20000kWh to ~14000kWh over a two year period, thereby significantly contributing towards the property’s return to profitability. Managed an extensive water-proofing project in the operational lobby. Managed implementation of a new water distribution system project to replace the 30 year old underground water lines resulting in improved guest satisfaction and reduction in water usage. Spearheaded renovation of one of the swimming pools. The project included replacement of piping, pumps and filtration systems and general repairs to the water body, thereby resulting in improved guest experience due to improvement in quality of water. Was assigned the task of improving hygiene from an engineering perspective; improved the property’s hygiene compliance rating from 80% to 89%, an all-time high for the property. Installation and commissioning of new 300TR Daikin chiller plants in 2014 and 2016 Awarded “Best Executive of the Department” in May 2015. Awarded “Best Executive of the Department” in June 2015. Voted “Best Executive of the Hotel” by unit leadership in June 2015.
