Robert Freeborn

Malequi joined our team in the fall of 2014 and quickly established himself as a very important contributor to a team that would go on to win the school's first regional championship. Malequi is a solid technical player, displays good speed to exploit attacking opportunities , and is a tireless worker in training and games. In addition to his soccer acumen he is an accomplished piano player and an excellent student. I found him to be a very positive presence on our soccer team and in our student body. His future is bright. Robert Freeborn, Varsity soccer coach, Blackhawk Christian high school

Malequi and his family are some of the most genuine and caring people I have met. He is a determined and responsible young man and will excel in life because he is well grounded, values based, and not solely focused on self.

I spent 12 of the last 16 months working as an assistant project designer at Tabberson Architects. I have worked in the schematic design, design development, and construction document phases of a dozen or so projects. I drafted plans, elevations, sections, wall construction details, and site plans using AutoCAD. Working with most of my coworkers on a number of different projects has taught me a lot about collaboration and communication. I was the first person a visitor would speak with upon entering the Arts and Journalism Building's art gallery. I spoke with students, faculty, and visitors about the artwork, exhibits, and galleries on display. I occasionally assisted the artists in setting up their work for exhibitions. Most of the artwork shown belonged to Ball State Undergraduate and Graduate Students, as well as Ball State faculty. I worked on a variety of projects and jobs while at Springfield. I learned a handful of useful skills while I roofed homes and lake houses, restored interior spaces that were infested by mold and mildew, and cleaned out or cleaned houses that suffered from severe smoke and fire damage. I learned the logistics of roofing, siding, and putting gutters on new and existing homes and buildings. I also found out how to remediate mold damage, and restore or repair affected areas.
